The mission of the Bears of the West is to promote opportunities for social and fraternal interaction between its members. This will be accomplished through meetings, activities and charitable events held by members of the club.

The club will strive for diversity and acceptance of any person who wishes to join. Membership within the club will consist of bears, cubs and those who wish to socialize with such persons. There is no political agenda for the group. Equal acceptance within the group regardless of any physical characteristic will be the goal. The club will strive to encourage friendship, a positive attitude and camaraderie both within the group and in the community as a whole.
